Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 7

Natsume went on a school trip to a hot spring reserve. Shigeru-san, his guardian parent entrusted him to pick up some tea cups which he ordered from a pottery nearby the hot springs. While walking in the forest to the pottery, he bumped into a young fox spirit who was being driven out by two other spirits. He beat them up on the young fox spirit's behalf and chastised them for picking on the helpless spirit.

The fox spirit who was taught to fear humans quickly ran and hide. However, he was fascinated by Natsume and ended up following Natsume around (this does seems to happen a lot to Natsume-kun huh? Good thing he attracts a good number of kind spirits as well). As the tea cups were not ready the last time he went to pick them up, Natsume had to pay a visit to the pottery again. However, it starting pouring heavily halfway up the mountains and Natsume had to stop and find shelter. The young fox offered him a huge leaf (I have no idea what leaf that was) to act as an umbrella. To spirit's surprise and pleasure, Natsume thanked him for it.

The next day, while telling his deceased mother about Natsume, the two bad spirits appeared again and tried to drive the young fox out of the forest. But Natsume came to the rescue! Right after that, Natsume heard a voice calling him to return its name. The bad spirits ran after finding out that Natsume was the owner of the Book of Friends as they thought he wanted to enslave them. The young fox spirit offered to be a subordinate but Natsume kindly refused.

One day, after Natsume had left for home, a spirit appeared in front of the young fox spirit to offer a deal. If the fox spirit could catch as many fishes and let him eat to his heart's content, he would teach the fox spirit a way to meet Natsume. Its hard work earned it a special medicine which could turn him human for a day. Off he sets to look for Natsume. When he saw Natsume happily having dinner with his adopted family, he decided to turn back and head for home. Natsume, having the keen sixth sense that he has, noticed the presence of the fox spirit and caught up with him. Him thanked the spirit for coming to see him and sent the fox back home.

Omg, this has got to be one of the most touching episodes. Look at them hugging each other. Oohhh... I so love human-animals. ^^ Even I felt a warm feeling in me watching the two of them. The poor fox spirit. T___T

Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 6

Natsume and his two friends from class headed out to the dam to fish. However their plan was totally foiled as the dam was dried up. Under the dam was the legendary Futaba village which was drowned a long time ago. Natsume noticed a spirit among the ruins and suddenly fell faint.

When he woke, he was back in his room and it was late at night. A group of spirits from the town under the dam came to visit and have their names returned. In return for Natsume's help, a spirit called Tarusaru informed Natsume that he was being possessed and held up a magic mirror which showed the silhouette of a girl behind Natsume (crap, it was scary!!!). Nyanko sensei managed to knock the girl spirit out of Natsume's body (just by a smack in the head? LMAO). The girl was unable to leave the village on her own, hence she needed Natsume to be a medium. She was looking for a person who she claims that she has to meet no matter what.

The girl spirit followed Natsume wherever he went (does the tactic seems familiar? ^^). Natsume finally gave up and agreed to help her. The person she was seeking was Taniozaki from the drowned Futaba village. All the villagers had moved to nearby areas when the village was drowned. In the past life, the girl spirit was a sparrow. She fell out of her nest when she was a hatchling and a human had saved her and put her back into the nest. However, her mother, smelling human scent on her, abandoned her and her siblings who gradually died of hunger. Taniozaki often left her food although he has never seen her. He just knew there was a hungry animal hiding in the bushes.

One day, while lounging on a tree, the spirit girl spotted Taniozaki walking down the street. Although she was satisfied to have met him, Natsume felt sad that Taniozaki was unable to see the spirit who adored him greatly as the spirit was also disappearing. So when Tarusaru informed him about a match at the Futaba festival to win a magic yukata which can transform a spirit into a human for one night, he instantly jumped to the chance. He won the yukata for the spirit girl who happily went to a neighbourhood festival where Taniozaki was at. I'm very happy that Natsume are meeting some really nice spirits and that he's starting to like them. I think his gift of seeing spirits is a very important gift which he should learn to treasure. I somehow feel that it will all build up to an important event. What could it be!?

Change Domain Name?

So sorry for the pause in posts this past few days. I got caught up with reading mangas at Mangafox whenever I have some free time and I just couldn't stop. Of course work has me occupied 90% of my day. =.=" But since it's the weekend, there's nothing much to do but blog~ ^^

Anyway, my boss was going through my blog the other day and commented that my domain is too long. He suggested that I shorten it so that it's easier for people to remember. Yeah, the good thing is, it's easier for people to remember. But the bad thing is, I've got people linking to this page already. Hmmm.. What do you think I should do? To change or not to change... That is the question. :D

Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 5

The episode opens with Natsume going through Reiko's stuffs which was left to him. He was feeling a bit nostalgic. Whenever Natsume performs a name-returning ritual, Reiko's memories become thoughts that flows through him. Little by little, he was starting to understand the type of person his grandmother was. He found an old train ticket in a book she had forgotten to return to the library.

Natsume wanted to know more about Reiko and decided to trace her steps back then. But it seems that Sasada has taken an interest in him (or his abilities?) and followed him to the bus stop. But Tanuma appeared to help him distract her while he escapes, boarding a bus. Nyanko sensei was already waiting for him at the train station which was no longer in use. Turning to head to Kiriganuma, the place Reiko was headed to, they found a big hairy hippo-looking spirit sleeping on a waiting bench.

Suddenly the spirit woke up and enthusiastically greeted him, calling him Reiko. Apparently he has been waiting for her all this while. Reiko had promised to accompany him to Kiriganuma to search for his best friend Mikuri. They had a huge fight and Mikuri had left him alone. As it was pretty late, she promised to go with him the next day but had not appeared since then. Natsume believed that something else came up hence she was unable to fulfill the promise. He wanted to finish off the things Reiko left behind.

However, as the day was getting pretty late, he decided to head to Kiriganuma the next day. The spirit became sad as Reiko had promised the exact same thing but was unable to make it. Not wanting the spirit to be sad, Natsume decided to continue with the journey despite Nyanko sensei's warnings. They managed to reach Kiriganuma although they did ran into some trouble on the way.

Suddenly they were attacked by a huge catfish who turns out to be Mikuri possessed by a spirit (I didn't know there was such a thing as a spirit being possessed by another spirit... Even the thought of it is hilarious!). There was a fight scene between Mikuri and Nyanko sensei (in his true form) and Nyanko sensei managed to tear Mikuri and the lingering spirit apart from each other. Mikuri and Santo, the hairy spirit, made up and they found out that the reason of the fight was Reiko herself. Mikuri who held to the pride of being a spirit disapproved of Santo surrendering his name to her.

Back home, Natsume was rummaging through Reiko's stuffs again. Nyanko sensei commented that Reiko simply forgot about her promise but Natsume did not believe she was such a irresponsible person. That is, until he opened another book which she forgot to return to the library and a bundle of old tickets fell out! But somehow I want to believe in Reiko-san too. In the flashback, Reiko mentioned she might know why Mikuri was angry and there was a regretful look on her face. So I believe she really did want to help them both make up. Maybe something really did happen?

Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 4

One day while walking to school, Natsume stopped to save a kappa who was lying by the side of the road. His class monitor saw him talking to himself and pouring water to the ground and suspected that he could see spirits (also since he always jumped suddenly or looked shocked as if he's seen a ghost which he most probably did). At school, Natsume was forced by his class monitor to join a trial of courage which will be held at an old school building scheduled for demolition. Natsume did not feel good about the whole idea as more spirits come out during summer nights but still came along. They were broken up into pairs and was instructed to head to the end of the second floor before returning back.

While waiting to draw the raffles, class monitor Sasada suddenly told Natsume about the building's legend. A god used to disguise himself as a human child to play with the village's children. However, a greedy merchant captured and locked him in a dungeon. The god slowly came to hate humans and became a vengeful spirit. After everyone had drawn a number, they found that they were missing a number. A vengeful spirit appeared (surprise, surprise!) before Natsume and his partner while they were roaming the hallways. Before the spirit could harm him, Sasada suddenly appeared looking for her pair who has gone missing.

My favourite part is when Nyanko sensei transformed into a girl to hunt after the vengeful spirit. He transformed into quite a pretty girl although she does act a bit too manly. Haha! Meanwhile, Sasada told Natsume another story of her in middle school. She had lost an important treasure in a trial of courage and had to return on her own to search for it eventhough she was so scared. The spirit had helped her find the charm back then. She came to the school building everyday after the incident to thank him but he refused to appear as he believed he was an unholy being.

After returning the vengeful spirit's name, Natsume told him of Sasada's words and made him remember the time when he helped Sasada. He then regretted being so selfish and decided to return to his place. At this time Sasada appears on the roof, only to see a bright flash of light as the spirit disappears, lightly touching her on the head, thanking her for her kind words and what she had tried to do. The next day, Natsume acted ignorant of the supernatural occurences that happened last night but wondered if she noticed the spirit herself. But then in the first place, she must've forced Natsume in hope of Natsume seeing the spirit she was trying to find.

Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 3

Natsume as a kid is so kawaii... Okay, so he was sad most of the time as he was outcasted by everyone but he is just so kawaii!!! >,< I suddenly feel my motherly instinct kick in seeing him cry. Anyway, one day two spirits visited him. Instead of asking him to return names, they requested for his help to get rid of an exorcist. Natsume, of course, refused saying that it was not his business to 'take care' of another human.

In school, Natsume was starting to get along very well with his classmates. One day, he got an odd feeling when he crossed paths with a shady-looking student. Oh gosh his smile is scareeee! >_<" When he asked his friends, they told him that the student, Tanuma, was a weird kid (deja vu anyone?).

Back to the two spirits, they relentlessly followed Natsume around everywhere he goes to convince him to help them get rid of the exorcist that was shooing away spirits at their habitat in a forest. Natsume finally had to give in and agree to investigate the matter. But he was ambushed by a bunch of spirits the moment he entered the forest! The spirits thought he was the one performing the exorcisms as they have never seen the exorcist but only smelled his human scent. Suddenly they felt an exorcism spell hitting the area.

They finally caught the perpetrator and found out that he was randomly performing exorcisms as his son has heightened six sense. He was afraid that the spirits might be harmful to them as they've recently moved to the area. He heard from some neighbours there were a lot of spirits roaming in the forest. Natsume convinced him to stop the exorcism and found out that his name was Tanuma.

The next day at school, Natsume saw Tanuma's son looking out of the window to a spot where there were spirits. Natsume enquired whether he could see them but Tanuma could only sense them although there are times when he would be able to catch glimpses of them. Hence a new friendship started based on mutual sentiments of another world. I really thought that Tanuma was a bad guy and that he was the one performing the exorcisms. The ending really caught me off guard but I'm glad Natsume has someone he can talk to about spirits. It must be really lonely (and freaking scary) to carry the knowledge alone.

Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 2

Words were passed on that Natsume was returning names bounded in the Book of Friends. Day by day, spirits visit him to have their names return. As the routine was new to him, performing the spell drains him of energy and he feels exhausted after every ritual.

One day, a tiny and very polite spirit came to visit and requested for his name to be returned. However, the page with his name written on it was stuck to another page, hence Natsume was unable to perform the spell. He tried to pry the pages apart, but the tiny spirit was also affected by Natsume's actions. The page with their name has become like a part of them, hence whatever happens to the page happens to them as well. As Natsume was out of ideas, he told the tiny spirit to give up.

While heading to visit Tsuyukami, the tiny spirit, Natsume bumped into an old lady who dropped her sweet buns. After stopping to help the old lady, Natsume and Nyanko sensei, his bodyguard spirit, continued on their way. They found Tsuyukami, who lives at a shrine and he told them his story. His appearance was getting smaller as people were forgetting him and was no longer worshipping him as a god. The old lady Natsume bumped into was the last remaining faithful one.

Determined to help Tsuyukami, they embarked on a mission to look for the spirit whose name was written on the page stuck to Tsuyukami's page. They managed to return both names to its respective owners. However, Miss Hana, the last devotee, passed away and Tsuyukami was fated to disappear along... Hey, at least she managed to catch a glimpse of him. Although it was only that one time when she was young. I think it turned out for the best, although I was really touched when Natsume tried to keep Tsuyukami alive. He has such a good heart!

Random Rantings 1

Wow, it's been close to a month since I started this blog. And I'm proud to say I've managed to finish off reviews of one whole series. But, in actual count, I've finished off four series so I have to start blogging faster to keep up with what I'm watching. Oh, I've put off watching The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi for the time being because I was stuck watching a whole episode of pointless storyline. So while I'm nursing my heart to continue with the series, I got my eyes set on Junjou Romantica and Natsume Yuujinchou, hence the temporary shift of focus.

Hai minna-san, watashi no blog dou desu ka? I would really appreciate it if you would share your thoughts on what I should improve. I've always been wondering, with the way I blog about the episodes, am I spoiling them for you? =_=" Well, at least I know I should be blogging faster for now.

I'm also planning to change the blog layout. But that would probably take a longer time what with all the error messages. *sighs* I really gotta open that basic html guide and try tweaking here and there. And I would really need to wait for a non-working weekend (we have to work alternate Saturdays) and hopefully one which I have no pending work hovering in my horizon to dampen my spirits. Ganbarimasu! ^o^

Natsume Yuujin Chou - Episode 1

Natsume has just transferred to a tiny town to stay with his relatives. He was a quiet person who often kept to himself. However, there were times when he would jump suddenly or stare at something so people usually find him weird. If only they knew how weird. Since small, Natsume was able see spirits.

One day while heading home from school, he was chased by two spirits who called him Reiko. Running to the nearest shrine to take refuge, he accidentally slipped and broke a barrier sealing a spirit. The spirit in a form of a cat, also addressing him as Reiko, and demanded that he handed over the Book of Friends. He corrected the spirit that he was Natsume, Reiko's grandchild and that Reiko has passed away, and he does not know anything about the Book of Friends. The spirit disappeared suddenly.

Back home, Natsume searched through the items left to him by his grandmother and found an old book. Suddenly the cat spirit appeared and tried to snatch the book away. But apparently Natsume has really fast reflexes (after growing up with all that spirits, are you kidding?). The cat agreed to become his bodyguard as it was dangerous for Natsume to own such a book. The book holds the power to control all spirits whose name was written in it. Hence it was a powerful tool and many demons would kill for it.

While Natsume's guardian went out, the two earlier spirits appeared again demanding for him to return their names. Running off into the woods, the cat spirit tried to steal the book again. Probably because he has more space (but why would he care if he destroys a human house?) he turned into his original form, a huge white dog (such irony). This time Natsume gave him a hard kick in the face and requested for its help in restoring the names of the spirits in the book. He promised that the book will belong to the cat when he dies. The cat spirit agreed and taught Natsume the method to restore the spirit names.

When Natsume was restoring the name of one of the spirits, Reiko's memories flooded his mind. He felt that it was a great way to get to know her, as she was someone he could relate to, and became even more determined in his quest to restore the names of the spirits which she has fought and captured their names in the Book of Friends.

Junjou Romantica - Episode 12 (End)

Another absolutely hilarious episode of Junjou Romantica and it opens with Misaki flat on the floor. Nope, not another scene of BL surprisingly. He was lying flat in dread (not so surprisingly). Akihiko was talking to Takahiro about letting him to stay and not move to Osaka. Thank God Takahiro is such a naive guy he easily agreed to Akihiko's otherwise nonsense of arguments.

In class, Keiichi senpai shared with him the news of Akihiko winning the Kikukawa Award, a pretigious award for novelists, for one of his novels. Misaki didn't have a clue about it as Akihiko doesn't talk about work with him. Back home, he found Isaka and Aikawa-san at the house with Akihiko all dressed up for a press conference. Isaka mentioned Haruhiko, Akihiko's brother was coming as well, and this piqued Misaki's interest. And of course, he was feeling insecure as he does not know much about Akihiko's background although they were together (yes, he admits it now!). And he was feeling jealous of Isaka again.

While they were gone, Misaki was worrying about what to give to Akihiko as a congratulatory present. Akihiko came back early, running off from the press conference as he hated social events. He was quick to dismiss a bouquet he received from Haruhiko and Misaki was feeling glum about all the things he didn't know and Akihiko doesn't readily share. Wanting to show Akihiko his love, he asked what Akihiko would like as a present. In a heart-melting scene, Akihiko says the only thing he wants is for Misaki to be with him forever. Misaki then decided to imitate what he read in Akihiko's porno-stories of them but it turns out that it might be a bad decision. Akihiko loved the idea and wants to give him all the porno-stories to read and imitate!!! LMAO XD

Junjou Romantica - Episode 11

Here Risako, Miyagi's ex-wifes makes another appearance (she's actually quite pretty... they make a really good couple). She came to collect some stuff she left behind after the divorce. Miyagi seems pretty fine meeting her to, apparently he keeps himself emotionally detached from others (I knew it! There's more to him than meets the eye). A long time ago, when he was young, he used to be in love with his teacher. However the teacher was suffering from a fatal disease and did not have long to live. Gosh, it was painful just watching him!

Shinobu turns up and broke his reverie. Miyagi tries to run away but Shinobu caught a glimpse of the picture of Miyagi and his beloved teacher which he kept treasured all this while. Shinobu kept pestering him and Miyagi went to the extreme of teaching him a 'lesson'... yet again (Woots!). But this time it seems to work. Shinobu was no longer coming around to the house. Yet somehow, Miyagi was troubled by it. It was so funny when he tried to share his feelings with Hiroki but Hiroki misunderstood and thought that his senior knew about him and his lover Nowaki. XD

He bumped into Shinobu who came to pick up some stuff at his place and invited him for some tea. Shinobu revealed that he has always been watching Miyagi in the library (so it wasn't the robbing incident!?). He then informs Miyagi that he has decided to leave again overseas. And Miyagi still couldn't stop himself thinking about the young boy and finally made up his mind to chase after Shinobu and stop him. I'm glad there was a happy ending to their story. Shinobu's crying face is just too kawaii! >,<

Junjou Romantica - Episode 10

This was unexpected! LMAO XD

Professor Miyagi has an admirer! And the admirer is none other than his ex-wife's younger brother! Oh crap, how twisted can this anime be? LMAO

So the younger brother, Shinobu, confesses his love to him in a restaurant. He fell in love with Miyagi since the first time he laid eyes on him. During their first meet, Miyagi saved him from a bunch of street punks who were trying to rob him. To him, it was destiny. But fate is really twisted in this anime, Miyagi turns out to be his sister's fiance! But as Miyagi was recently divorced, he wasted to time returning home from abroad where he had escaped to lick his wounds.

To add on to Miyagi's torment, his ex-father in law, the faculty's dean had to ask him to put up with Shinobu as his ex-wife was bringing home her new boyfriend. Miyagi could not refuse the request and was forced to allow Shinobu to stay with him. Not being able to take Shinobu's unwavering affection on him, Miyagi decided to teach him a lesson on love and what it urm, entails... Seeing how afraid Shinobu was, Miyagi then left his house and headed off to his office. In the morning, he woke up to Shinobu's face. Again, he tried to reiterate that he wasn't gay and hence it wouldn't work between them. But Shinobu was adamant that he should try to open his heart to him.

Junjou Romantica - Episode 9

So we've all been curious about Akihiko's and Hiroki's relationship right? This episode reveals it all. Since young, Hiroki has been pushing himself to be the best at everything. Then there are times when he feels so pressured that he would retreat to his secret hide out in the woods. But one day, he found another boy around his age sleeping at his secret hide out. He was Akihiko, the son of a neighbour who just came back from abroad. They quickly became friends and Hiroki was charmed by Akihiko's quiet warmth.

One day while they were hanging out their secret hide out, a typical bouncer looking guy called out in search of Akihiko. Akihiko quickly hid himself and Hiroki from the man's view. Apparently their secret hide out was in Akihiko's residence compound (Holy crap... How huge is his house?). Hiroki invited Akihiko to stay over for the night as Akihiko did not want to head back to his house. Akihiko's did not have a warm family environment to feel at home with (I wonder why, he's such a good kid).

Hiroki has always been curious about Akihiko and his family hence he didn't hesitate to jump to Akihiko's offer to visit his home. While browsing through Akihiko's stuff, he stumbled across Akihiko's self-written stories. Akihiko was embarassed at first but finally gave in. He even allowed Hiroki to bring home his completed works. And that, my friends, is the start of their friendship and Hiroki's affection towards Akihiko. My favourite part is definitely the kiss scene but ah, it was a friendly kiss on Akihiko's part as a means to calm Hiroki down. Dang! Really, Akihiko is an interesting character, even as a kid...

Why did Akihiko allow Misaki to go you ask? During the phone call, Takahiro told Akihiko about the siblings past. Misaki blames himself for their parents death. He believes if he had been more patient and less selfish and did not rush their parents back home, they wouldn't have been speeding on the highway and got into the fatal accident which claimed their lives. Since then, Misaki has always forced himself to be considerate and sensitive to everyone around him, while disregarding his own wants and feelings.

Meanwhile, Misaki leaves the company of his brother and new wife as he disagreed with Takahiro view on Akihiko. He gave Akihiko a call on a payphone. Akihiko urgently told him to wait at the train station as he was coming to fetch Misaki! They even did it in the train!!! Kyaaaa... >,<

Hunks Mania!

Alright, I have a confession to make: I have an absolute fetish for guys with long hair. Especially when they tie it back into a ponytail. They just look so classy and it just makes me wanna run my fingers through the silky tresses. Meow~ =^.^= And I love those silent types, they're usually the reliable ones. And they're so effing loyal I would kill for someone like that to be mine. >=X

Here's five of my all time favourites:

Haji of Blood+

Himura Kenshin of Samurai X

Kaname senpai of Vampire Knight

Sanzo of Gensomaden Saiyuki

Tooya of Ayashi no Ceres

I think these types of guys attracts me more as only they could anchor me. I'm too crazy to be paired up with another crazy guy, too clumsy to be paired up with another clumsy guy, and too temperamental to be paired up with another emotional guy. And I have these bouts of silent moments which another normal person couldn't possibly understand. But a silent reliable type will just be there quietly with me, deshou? So that's why I think they would be perfect. Of course in real life, my boyfriend is a total opposite. He even has short hair! >,<
